I have decided to stop reading "The Eagle of the Ninth" Because it was hard and I got confused.
I started a new book called Paper town by John Green. I am on page 29 and we where given information about the characters and who they like.

I am now on page 58 and a lot of action is happening. Margo and Q have made a big plan. Q is really scared to get in trouble with Margo. They have entered Becca's house and in the house they put a dead fish.Then they put a dead fish in Jason's car. Now they are in a big building where you can see all of Orlando.

However after a while he did not like being on the evil side so he switched to being to the good side and Winston Churchill helped him to become a great spy.

Strike and Robin find a clue in one of John Bristows Notes: there is a Person spotted on CCTV footage showing him and an accomplice running from Lula's appartement only ten minutes after her death. Robin and the Detective go to the street that day were the Runner was spotted and try and retrace their steps....

Meanwhile Strike's only other client Mrs Hook comes by to see the advancements on her case. Just to get told that her husband is not sleeping with his assistant  as she thought but with her sister! After Strike saw how Robin handled the devastated Mrs.Hook, they decided to make a deal by not going threw the temporary agency so  that Robin could stay longer than a week and help the detective.
Strike has conducted interviews with Lula Landrys Driver and Doorman. Strike managed to track down the rehab girl that Lula saw just hours before her death so given in the testimony of Kieran Kovolas-Jones ( the driver). Apparently Lula left the café only 15 minutes after talking to Roquelle(the rehab girl). But sadly Roquelle was nowhere to be found. I'm now on page 122 out of 449.

I am on page 35 and Marcus the main character, has gone to find out what happened to his father but a war has started and he is involved in it.

In the first chapter, which is the part I read last night, talks about their past. It talks about how good their past has been and they are in a bar at the beginning.

An update about my book ( The Cuckoo's Calling)

I finished the part one of the book, and Detective Strike decides to accept John Bristows case. Meanwhile Robin ( Detective Strike's new secretary) shows true initiative and competence and impresses the Detective. At his departure John Bristol left a considerable stack of notes that he says are details that the police did not take in consideration or might have missed. On a side note Detective Strike is forced to sleep in his office because he got in a nasty fight with his wife Charlotte. Part one ends with Strike going over John notes and making a few comments and trying to get John turn of events into order. Strike and Robin go through the different articles about Lula's death with a fine comb and analyse each picture regarding the funeral and looking into different suspects.

I am reading a book called Christmas Books by Charles Dickens. There are five different stories about Christmas; A Christmas Carol, The Chimes, The Cricket on the Heart, The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man. The picture on the left is a picture of the book 'A Christmas Carol'. 

This is a story about a man called 'Scrooge', an old man, who is well-known for his miserly ways and scary moods. He lost his partner called 'Marley'. Where he lives all the children are scared of him. Nobody likes him because of his quick temper and anger issues. He hates Christmas because his partner died seven years ago today. When he goes back to his house which is left from his parents he sits on his chair by the fire place and he starts hearing someone walking on the stairs and then the door squeak opens and he sees Marley's ghost. First he thinks his senses are playing with him but then everything starts getting real. Marley's ghost has lots of chains all over him. He says that the chains represents all the sins he did in his life. He tells Scrooge that when the clock shows twelve o'clock he is going to have visitors coming to his house one by one. 

Of course, Scrooge didn't believe and went back to sleep but he woke up because of the light that disturbs him and he sees the Ghost of the Past. The Ghost shows him scenes from his  happy childhood, his old village, his lively moments with his old boss. Next he takes him to a scene where he is more of an adult and he is with his fiancée. She is telling him how much he changed and that he likes money more than her. 

Then they see the girl become a woman, living happily with her family and Scrooge is upset. The Ghost of the Past takes scrooge back to his bedroom.

The second spirit comes next, the Ghost of the Present. This Ghost takes him to a scene where Scrooge's assistant is humiliated by his poorness and can't afford anything. Then he sees his son, Tiny Tim which is weak and sick, it saddens Scrooge.

Next, they go the Scrooge's nephew's house celebrating Christmas with his other family members and friends, as they celebrate, they also joke about how Scrooge is a "ridiculous fellow".

The Eagle of the Ninth, is about a boy called Marcus that wants to find out what happened to his father and the legion he led. In the first pages Marcus thinks about his father, and we learn some details about the characters.

I am reading 'The Night Manager' by John le Carré.

This is a fictional tale set in 1991 about Jonathan Pine who, at the beginning of the book, we learn is a hotel night manager.He proceeds to describe to us a certain man called Herr Kaspar, the head concierge, who definitely has a unique personality. According to Jonathan Pine, Herr Kaspar has never gotten anything wrong in his life and despite him being a concierge, he lives quite a luxurious and comfortable lifestyle.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

I am reading the book "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" written by Mark Twain.

This book will tell the stories of Tom Sawyer who lives in a small Missouri town. In this book Mark Twain records 'many adventures that really occured'

The begging of this book gives us information about Tom and his aunt who live together in Missouri. For now, we have no clue about who are Tom's parents and why he is living with his aunt. The begging is setting the scene and describing where he lives, etc.

War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

This book has been written from the point of view of the horse. The book starts with the horse being captured by three men after it was sold to the highest bidder. He doesn't really like the owner, he's a drunk old man that intimidates him very much. When he sees the owner's child, Albert, he becomes more confident with the family. Albert now named him Joey. Albert is the 13 year old son of the drunk old man and a caring mother. Albert's father has been trying to keep the farm but he is living to the limits since he has no more money because of buying the horse. He tells Albert that if the horse isn't working in the next few weeks he will have to sell him. Albert takes long hours of hard work to teach the horse how to plow and finally achieves it. Even though he did keep the promise of putting the horse to work his father decides to sell the horse for the good of the family.

i am reading a book called NIGHT RISE by Anthony Horowitz

There are five books in this series and this one is the third one. It is about two telepathic twins that get  separated into different timelines and they must try to find each other again.

These two kids called jaime and Scott  are part of 5 kids who all have a power and if the 5 children group together they can defeat the old ones who are people who are trying to kill these five children. I find these books very exciting and tense. Very enjoyable to read.

Yesterday i read from page 54 to 64. What has happened is that both twins were under attack from two people. The twins are both shot with darts and they fall unconscious. Just in time a person rescues jaime but does not have enough time to rescue Scott and now the twins have been separated. Jaime finds himself in a room and talks a bit to the lady who rescued him.

i have read more of the book and here is what happens. Jaime meets the woman and the woman is called Alicia. Jaime cant access his brothers mind because they are too far away. Alicia has been spying on them for a long time because she has discovered that a lot of these kids with special powers are getting kidnapped and her son was kidnapped as well and she thinks by finding Jaime's brother she can maybe find her son too. They both go to los-angeles to the place where the nightrise corporation is because that company deals with unknown powers but they have no idea that the company is secretly kidnapping these special kids and examining on them.

i am now on page 147. Jaime then goes with Alicia to the building to find one of the men who kidnapped Scott. Jaime finds him and goes into the mind of the man so he can see where his brother is. He finds out in his brain that Scott is being held somewhere called silent creek. He leaves the building with lots of security trying to get him and he ends up breaking the fire alarm so that they can lose him in the crowd. He gets back in the car with Alicia and they leave to go to a hotel so that Alicia can speak to the future president Trelawny. She knows him because she used to work for him. Alicia speaks to him a bit about jaime powers and Trelawny doesn't know whether to believe her or not.

Trewalny asks for a test and brings out a small tin box and asks Jaime what is inside. Jaime looks into his mind and says that there is nothing inside the box except that his deceeded wife made it for him. Trewalny is amazed and now belives him. The three of them make a plan to save Scott. Their plan is to make a fake crime that Jaime did so that he can go to silent creek as a prisoner. Jaime is then put on trial(of course knowing that it is fake)and is then sent to silent creek for a time of one year. In the book you then get a bit of Scotts view. He is trapped in a room and is extremely tired. People have been putting drugs in him a lot and he is very weak. A woman comes in and starts to tempt him saying that Jaime was a bad brother for leaving him behind at the circus and says that soon she can take care of him and that they can team up. We then go back to Jaime's point of view and he explores more of the prison trying to connect to his brother. One night he tries to use his mind power on a guard to get him on the other side of the prison where they are keeping all the special kids. It does not work.

Later on the prison is under attack and jaime gets broken out of the prison by a security guard who knows exactly who he is.Jaime refuses to until he can find Alicias son. He finds him and breaks him  out saying he will get the other special kids another time. They are then driven out of the compound  As Jaime is driven out of the place one of the men who attacked him at the circus shoots him in the back and jaime falls unconsious on the car.

Jaime awakes and finds himself in a completely new world and not the USA.  A girl named Scar arrives on a horse with two other knights.

Currently I am reading the book named Nerve written by Jeanne Ryan. This book is about a young teenager named Vee who lives in Seattle, Washington. Vee starts off not being a risk-taker and an adventurous type of girl. Each time that an advertisement of a website named Nerve pops up, she feels the urge to do one of the dares and submit it to Nerve to see if she can get into the live rounds.

At last, she decides to choose a dare out of the man dares that "Nerve" suggest. The dare that she chose to do was: to pour a bucket of cold water on top of herself in a coffee shop that was called Gotta-Hava-Java. To do the dare she needed someone to film her while doing the dare so she asked her friend named Tommy. Without thinking, she poured the bucket of water on top of her very sheer and thin silk shirt. Therefore, the video of her in the coffee shop went viral in Seattle. Unexpectedly, Vee got chosen to complete dares in the live rounds. In the live rounds, people pay money to "Nerve" to be Watchers and observe players do dares right in front of them.

Few words about my book

The story is about this investigator Comoran Strike who wants to find the real cause of death of this Supermodel Lula Landry. It is a crime fiction in 2010. Detective Strike gets a new temporary secretary called Robin Ellacott who just got engaged to Matthew. Detective Strike's Private Investigation business is not going very well. He hasn't received a new client in weeks. As soon as Robin walks in a few moments later a new client arrives. His name is John Brostow the brother of the deceased Lula Landry.

A composition of a lot of short stories from the author from the first to the last short story he had written
So far, I have read 'Travel by Wire' and 'How we went to Mars' and both stories so far are so diverse from each other. It gets you thinking about the theories and sciences of space as well as other types of life that could exist. 13/9

1 Week in, and each story I read, tells a different story of the problems or dreams or even reality of what is happening in terms of space exploration. For example, 'Reverie' was about the dreams of what space could be like, of what he wants it to be, but wakes up to find out that his dreams are just a dream. Another example could be 'Loophole' which isn't a short story at all, but a transcript of imaginary letters written from important earthlings to aliens on mars on Earth doing too many exploration flights to mars and that if not stopped, the aliens will obliterate Planet Earth. The short stories also vary in length. Some 4 sides and some more then 40 pages. So far, A highly recommended book for someone who is interested in sci-fi but wants stories that are short and snappy. 19/9

Two weeks since I have updated this book. Since this I have read another three short stories of this book. However, these 3 stories have nothing special worth publicizing this time. I am reading less on this book as I am migrating some reading time to my other book, mentioned above. 4/10

Im am reading "Karoo Boy" By; Troy Blacklaws

This book is set in Muizenburg, Cape Town in 1976. It all starts in a warm day. when they where playing cricket barefoot in the next to Sunrise beach when an accident happens. When Douglas's twin brother Marsden gets hit bay the ball in the head and falls to the ground. Once a few days of sorrow his mother decides to force him back to school where he falls in love with a girl, then he has a  incident with his dodgeball teacher where he gets into a fight.
