Cuckoo's Calling Part 4
I managed to get to part 3 of the book now. Meanwhile, Strike is slowly but surely advancing in the landry case. He has managed to gather almost of the possible people who have a relation to Landrys death. With help of Robin, he gathered more information about the afternoon before Lula died and the mysterious Rochelle Onifade( Rehab girl). detective Wilson finally sent over the police file about Landrys death. The entire night Strike went threw the file with a fine comb and find details that seemed spurious to him. He even got hold of the CCTV footage showing the two mysterious runners that John Bristol mentioned in his notes.

Geoffrey's Reading Update (finally)
Short Stories by Arthur C Clarke
Since I have last updated, I have read 2 short stories by Arthur C Clarke. The first story inheritance, was not about inheritance but about a pilot (who toke up his fathers old job (hence the name)) and his story when he had an accident involving his spaceship, but is told in a 'supernatural' way, but refers to what could happen in the modern world. The other story I read is called nightfall, which is considerably shorter then the other two I read, was about the devastated state of a town that have been nucleated prior to writing this story. How this story as written is unknown, as this town had no humans, no plants, no animals no life. But as the town described is Stratford upon Avon (referred from references in the description of the town), this story is a true Sci-fi as this didn't actually happen in the real world (Stratford still exists!), but is what would happen if it ever happened.
All the lights we cannot See
As well as reading the short stories, I am also continuing to read this novel. I am on the part in what is being imagined in the 2 characters minds (Warner and Maria (both being blind), and what they could see. Maria being able to see everything in color, in her head of the town, landmarks, without actually seeing it before prior to being blind and Warner seeing radio waves and 'voices' from the radio he mended(despite him being blind). I am almost done with this part, and most of the introductory of the two characters stories, before the war impacts the two. I am on chapter 22

Night Manager (Update)
Around 100 pages into the book, things start to get messy. Mr. Roper, a dangerous man trafficking drugs, designated as the "worst man in the world" by certain characters in this book arrives to the hotel that Jonathan Pine manages. One evening, Jonathan meets Sophie, the wife of the owner of the hotel. She asks Jonathan to send some secret documents.
"Boom" by Mark Haddon UPDATE
In the beginning of the book, it talks about how all the children in the family fight for different things and the parents get really annoyed at what they do. The boy always gets in trouble during the week in school because he gets detention every single week.
A spy among friends
I read the first 30 pages of this book. It explains the situation that John Elliot is in, he is going to have to go an mission to spy on someone, I don't know who yet!

Cuckoo's Calling Part 3
Strike is now trying to get the different point of view of all the people that were there on the night Landry died. He managed to talk to one of hid friends in the police force who were there that horrible night. More in particular, Strike wanted to know about Tansy Bestiguis statement, who heard alarming voices in Landrys appartement the night she died. The police did not pay close attention to Tansys statement because apparently that night she was high on coke. So the next days John Bristol wants to introduce Strike to Tansy over Lunch at Cipriani.

All the Lights We Cannot See
During this period, I am reading not one but two books at once. The short stories by Arthur C Clarke, and a newly realized novel called all the lights we cannot see. It is about two blind teenagers; A french girl called Marie-Laure and a German boy called Warren. So far, the book has described the life of the teenagers, why they went blind and the subtle beginnings of war preparations. I am on Chapter 12
I changed from "A Spy Among Friends: Philby and the Great Betrayal" by Ben Macintyre to "Boom" by Mark Haddon
I have switched books because my book, "A Spy Among Friends: Philby and the Great Betrayal" By Ben Macintyre, was very hard to understand and difficult. I was not moving very fast because I had to go back and re-read it because I did not understand it. I have switched to the book called, "Boom" by Mark Haddon, which talks about the story of two boys, Charlie and Jimbo, and their crazy, insane and stupid ideas.
