Around 100 pages into the book, things start to get messy. Mr. Roper, a dangerous man trafficking drugs, designated as the "worst man in the world" by certain characters in this book arrives to the hotel that  Jonathan Pine manages. One evening, Jonathan meets Sophie, the wife of the owner of the hotel. She asks Jonathan to send some secret documents.
